In my current project, the client had a need to modify some custom properties for their Alien RFID readers.

I think that the easiest way to do this  is to use the built-in portal that is part of the reader’s installation:

  1. Go to : http://<ip address of the reader>.
  2. You should see the summary page of the reader. (see image below)
  3. From the summary page you can:
    1. Click on “Reader Information” to view/modify custom properties. (see image below).
    2. Perform troubleshooting tasks on the reader using the “Reader Management” link.
    3. Execute custom commends. (like “Get IOList” or “Get TagList”)

Good luck

Hello

Jesus and Dwight recorded an excellent set of videos about SO-Aware. it is a multi-part series so check frequently for new videos.

part 1 introduces the products and the concepts behind it, it also shows some of the powerful capabilities of the product:

My favorite parts in this video are the templates (for behavior and bindings). it allows you to find a specifies binding/behavior that you need (like a behavior to configure service throttling) copy it and paste it to your app/web config files.

Towards the end of the video you can see a very simple way of getting reed of those giant app/web config files and centralize the configuration using SO-Aware.

Hello

in my current project, i have a requirement to add fields to an existing BAM activity.

The steps I performed were: (using the bm.exe utility or using a GUI)

  1. Back up existing .xml or .xls definition for the activity.
  2. Remove previous view. (only the view needs to be removed)
  3. Redeploy the modified activity using the “update” command.

Good luck
